OUR METHODS

The Montessori Method of education, based on self directed, non competitive activities  help children develop strong self-esteem and the confidence to face challenges and change with optimism.

The first six years of a child’s life are the most formative years. It is a time when children effortlessly absorb concepts and habits. It is also the period when roots for a love of learning are established.

Consequently, The Perfect Rock School provides a unique cycle of learning designed to take advantage of the child’s sensitive years of development when they can absorb information from an enriched environment. The Montessori Method of education was developed by Maria Montessori, the first woman in Italy to obtain a degree in Medicine. Maria Montessori spent decades observing children at different stages of development from birth to adulthood. Her record of observations became known as the Montessori Method. Her experience with children in 1906 in the first Montessori school, named “Casa dei Bambini” meaning “the House of children “led to the recognition of the Montessori Method of education all over the world.

Dr. Maria Montessori, a pioneer in child development observed that children have a natural, progressive aptitude for acquiring knowledge about their world. Build on this natural progression, Dr. Montessori developed a philosophy which embraces the whole child. She found that by placing children in a specially prepared environment to meet their physical, cognitive social and emotional needs and to satisfy their intrinsic interests, children not only learn, but thrive.

At The Perfect Rock School, this philosophy is expressed in our children’s rooms where children, ranging in age over a three-year span, work individually or in small groups with specially designed Montessori materials and other developmentally appropriate tasks.

The ungraded, open-ended curriculum allows students to progress at their own pace in a dynamic, energized, free-flowing classrooms where learning is tangible.
